Throughout his career, John has managed tax preparation for more professional athletes than any other advisor, consistently securing the lowest legal tax liabilities. His expertise and personal experience within the sports industry have enabled him to forge strong relationships with players, teams, leagues, agents, and financial advisors, enhancing his ability to deliver specialized tax strategies that address immediate financial needs and ensure long-term wealth preservation for athletes and entertainers.
John's academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Butler University, where he excelled in basketball. After college, he played professionally overseas for 12 seasons, during which time he further developed his accounting expertise at a Big Four tax firm in Germany. This combination of sports and finance experience highlighted the critical need for specialized tax advisors attuned to the financial dynamics of professional athletes. John later earned an MBA from Schiller International University and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. John’s dissertation explored the financial decision-making of former NFL players, which formed the foundation of his book, Touchdown Finance, which shares many of the tips gleaned from those professional athletes.
Beyond his professional commitments, John remains deeply engaged with the sports community. He actively participates in community basketball and cherishes spending time with his wife and four children. As a part-owner of a women's professional soccer team, John continues to play a significant role in the sports world, ensuring that his involvement extends well beyond the office.
